Beyond the BellThe mission of the Beyond the Bell Branch is to ensure that all children and youth in LAUSD have access to high quality, safe, and supervised academic, enrichment, and recreation programs that inspire learning and achievement beyond the regular school day (before and after school and Saturdays).
Beyond the Bell (BTB) provides free comprehensive after school program services, comprised of three major components, academic assistance, enrichment and recreation for Short Avenue students. BTB offers a safe area where responsible, caring adults engage children in activities that support achievement and promote social, emotional, physical development after school. BTB youth services after school program is provided for those children capable of independent supervision to, from, and at the playground site. It is a permissive recreation program for students at Short Avenue Elementary in grades 2-5. Students are allowed to come and go as they choose. Parents must arrange how their child/ren will be reunited with them at the program end time of 6:00pm.
