Marie Trapnell
Marie Trapnell resides in her childhood home in Brentwood with her spouse of more than two decades, her dogs, and her loving parents. Her athletic scholarship to UCLA provided her a BA in Geomorphology followed with an MBA from USC in Marketing/General Management. Later, a temporary teaching assignment turned into a life-long love affair. To quote Ms. Trapnell, “Watching children thrive in all aspects of the growth cycle is the ultimate reward, and teaching remains the greatest opportunity to effect that metamorphosis.” The classroom is only an incidental, though significant, aspect in promoting a well-rounded citizen of the world. Thus, she currently orchestrates, leads, and serves on a multitude of committees, not only to assure that Short Avenue will provide that “something extra”, but also to guarantee that each one will provide maximum learning versatility to each child. She is a high-energy personality who immerses herself into her many passions, some of which are listed below: Booster Club Board Member Nutrition Network Health Education Program Tree Care and Beautification 1st Grade Olympics Math Madness GATE Leadership Science Mania Week School Site Council Short Ave. Community Service Incidentally, in her spare time, Marie enjoys her other passion - her 15 nieces and nephews, with whom she entertains them with Sunday Family Feasts as well as special activities such as camping while involving them in electrifying science and art. Thus, “teaching” never ceases, even while on vacation! |
