Karen Reynolds is passionate about education and thrilled to to be the principal at Short Avenue Elementary School.  She has achieved over 30 years teaching in LAUSD. Ms. Reynolds earned a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA and a Masters/Administrative Credential from CSUN. She enjoyed teaching students for 15 years before entering into successful
​academic administration.

In her spare time, Ms. Reynolds loves to travel, read, and exercise. She has two wonderful children, one alumni and one currently attending UC Santa Cruz. Go Banana Slugs!

Congratulations to Short Avenue Elementary school fifth grade students, Millie Escolero, Nicholas Welch, and Johnny Rodriguez, for winning a certificate of achievement in Latin at the 4th Annual “Celebrating Bilingualism and Biliteracy Awards”, presented by School Board President Steve Zimmer.  This recognition is granted annually to students in the Venice complex who demonstrate excellence in English and other languages.  Amici Gratulatum!
