I feel fortunate that I get to spend my days with the everchanging 5th graders at Short Avenue School. They have a fine-tuned sense of humor, are willing to challenge me and get excited about learning. Short Avenue is a gem of a school and teachers, staff, students, and parents all work together as a team and are extremely welcoming and warm. I am thrilled to be part of this amazing community. I grew up in Southern California and attended Cal State Fullerton where I received my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Child Development and my teaching credential. After that, I earned my Master’s Degree in Administration from Pepperdine University and went on to teach children as young as preschool and up to 7th grade. I also spent several years as an assistant principal, but always knew my heart was in teaching. One of my best experiences was teaching in Sao Paulo, Brazil at an international IB school for two years. When I am not teaching, I spend time with my husband, two teenage children and our dog, Steve. I am an avid runner and reader and enjoy traveling. |
