I am in my second decade of teaching in LAUSD. I have taught every grade from fifth through 12th grade at Short Avenue Elementary, Marina del Rey Middle School, and Fremont High School. I grew up in Gainesville, Florida and Macon, Georgia where I graduated from Central High School. I attended Yale University and graduated in 1989 with a BA in history. I have lived in Los Angeles since 1993 and am married with three children. When I am not teaching or preparing to teach, I enjoy reading, non-competitive sports, hiking/camping, grilling, and musing on various topics. I live in the Short Avenue neighborhood and enjoy running into Short Avenue friends and students while shopping or walking in the neighborhood. We have a great school and I am very proud of it and its families.
