Tyler Geuvjehizian
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. When not teaching, I enjoy going to the beach, traveling, going to sporting events, and trying new local restaurants. Coming from a family of educators, I was surrounded by people who cared and nurtured our future leaders. It was no surprise that I followed in their footsteps and became an educator as well. I received my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies-Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University and immediately began teaching kindergarten. Considering myself a lifelong learner, I am constantly looking for ways to learn with children, engage in new experiences, and deepen my practice. Since being in the classroom, I have received my Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from California State University Dominguez Hills. I am grateful to be a member of the Short Avenue community, working with colleagues and families who support one another. I believe that the classroom is a space for people to discuss, analyze, collaborate, and create. I believe that children should given opportunities to learn not only about themselves, but the people and communities around the through engaging in student-driven learning.
