Vicky Caluag
Hello Short Avenue students and families! My name is Vicky Caluag, and I am thrilled to be a part of the first grade team. I was born in New Jersey and moved to California with my parents and two older brothers when I was two years old. I grew up in Orange County and moved to San Diego for four years where I received my bachelor’s degree in child development at San Diego State University. There, I worked as an assistant teacher in a preschool classroom for a year and a half in an early childhood center. I moved back to Orange County to pursue my master’s degree and multiple subject teaching credential at Chapman University. As a teacher, I believe that it is critical to support both the academic and social-emotional needs of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, singing, hiking, embroidering, and going to the beach.
